France's National Rally party preliminarily wins the first round of the parliamentary elections with 34.5%, Macron's party is in 3rd place with 22.5%, according to Belgian media data.
Marine Le Pen said that she managed to be re-elected to the French parliament in the first round.
Her National Rally party will receive from 240 to 270 seats in parliament - a relative majority, according to calculations by national TV. Macron's coalition loses more than 160 seats in the National Assembly and could gain from 60 to 90 seats out of 577.
The headquarters of the Socialist Party, part of the left coalition, called such results a severe defeat for Macron.
Bloomberg noted that the victory of the National Unity in the parliamentary elections could threaten European integration and support for Ukraine’s military efforts; right-wing forces are increasingly popular in France.
